The Duchy of Cadwaladr (also known as Cadwaladr) is a duchy founded by HermesOfSuburbia. The town is named after the ancient Welsh king Cadwaladr (Cadwaladr ap Cadwallon) who ruled the kingdom of Gwynedd (Wales) from around 655 A.D to 682 A.D. It sits upon the coastline and is protected by the highlands in the north. The official languages of Cadwaladr are English and Welsh, with German being used unofficially. Agriculture and natural resources are the two biggest contributors to its relatively small economy.
Politics
The town is a monarchy that includes elements of democratic structures with the duke being the highest available political role of power. It is known to be politically neutral and self-reliant, and its laws are based on rationality rather than moral concepts. Players seeking political asylum from other towns are granted citizenship by the duchy if they align with the foundational principles (Egwyddorion Sylfaenol).

Citizenship and Laws
Citizenship is granted by swearing an oath to the foundational principles of the duchy called “Egwyddorion Sylfaenol”, which are rationality, goodwill, honesty, and modesty. Every citizen is expected to perform community service, such as keeping the town fed as a substitute for paying taxes, with players seeking political asylum having to take care of the animals and pets of the duchy.
Citizens are obligated to carry the duchy's ID card at any time. Breaking the foundational principles is considered the highest of crimes and can lead to a prison sentence or, in rare cases, excommunication. Notable offenses that are seen as not in line with the Egwyddorion Sylfaenol or are otherwise punishable are stealing, murder, animal abuse, invoking political unrest, and griefing, which can lead to a fine, a jail sentence, or, upon repeated offense and sentencing, excommunication.
Cyfraith Cath
Cats are an important part of the culture in Cadwaladr, with their own set of laws having been designed for them; these are called the “Cyfraith Cath” or “Cat Laws.” According to the Cyfraith Cath, a cat must have the following attributes to be of worth: it should hunt mice and be able to have children; it must have good teeth, a bushy tail, and no burn marks. The set price for such a cat is two diamonds and cats who do not come with these specified attributes are not to be sold.
